HR Works to offer back-to-back HR Academy sessions
For companies that have federal contracts or subcontracts or that serve as federal depositories, a strong knowledge of affirmative action is essential. Failure to adhere to OFCCP requirements can have substantial consequences.
On October 14, HR Works will be offering back-to-back sessions of HR Academy, focused exclusively on the ins and outs of affirmative action. These sessions will serve as an excellent opportunity for HR professionals to learn the fundamentals of affirmative action principles and implementation.
The Basics of Affirmative Action (8:00 a.m. - noon), introduces participants to federal affirmative action requirements. It includes the regulatory foundation for affirmative action, AAP structure, data tracking requirements, and implementation activities. Also included are compliance enforcement and hot topics.
Who is an Applicant? – Applying the Internet Applicant Definition (1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) provides a detailed description of the benefits and challenges associated with the OFCCP's internet applicant definition. It includes common applicant tracking mistakes, best practices, and internal auditing procedures. Issues associated with utilizing external databases and recruiting agencies will also be covered.
HR Academy will be held October 14 at HR Works' second-floor training facility, 246 WillowBrook Office Park, Fairport. Both courses are appropriate for federal contractors with 50 or more employees.
