HR Works program aids executives in managing 401(k) risks
Prinicpals of EPIC advisors to present strategies, field questions at June 11
HR NetWorks Program
Risks are inherent in running a business and, in today’s challenging environment, they’re growing
ever more numerous and complex.
Case in point: As stock values have plummeted over the last few years and Enron Corp. and Global
Crossing Ltd. have collapsed, a spotlight has been focused on the fiduciary
risks that employers assume when they sponsor 401(k) plans for their employees.
To manage these risks, as well as the rising costs of administering employee retirement plans,
savvy employers must develop concrete strategies regarding their roles and
responsibilities.
To help executives plan those strategies, HR Works, Inc., and EPIC Advisors Inc. are partnering to
present “Controlling Costs in 401(k) Plans and Fiduciary Risk Management.”
The program will be held Wednesday, June 11, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
at the Genesee Valley Club, 421 East Ave. The event is free, but
registration is required.
Led by Theresa B. Mazzullo and James Genthner, principals of EPIC Advisors, the program will help
participants identify their companies’ 401(k) costs, both hidden and billed.
Mazzullo and Genthner will outline the expenses involved in mutual-fund and
annuity investments, and will present opportunities for offsetting the
increasing costs of 401(k) services.
Designed for senior managers -- including CEOs, company presidents, vice presidents, CFOs,
controllers and HR executives -- “Controlling Costs in 401(k) Plans and
Fiduciary Risk Management” is part of the series HR NetWorks: The
Executive Human Resources Forum, created by HR Works to address
advanced-level issues and case studies that directly impact organizations’
strategic initiatives and profitability.
