HR Works’ January MasterWorks session focuses on the Pension Protection Act of 2006
HR MasterWorks is a training series designed for senior HR professionals and executives presented by HR Works, Inc. The series addresses advanced-level concerns that affect the performance and profitability of all organizations.
The January session, “Understanding the Changing Landscape of Retirement Plans,” is scheduled for January 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Presented by Mike Merriman, Client Sales & Services Officer, Genesee Valley Trust Company, and Michael Snyder, Esq., Attorney, Harris Beach, specializing in ERISA & employee benefit issues, this session will focus on the Pension Protection Act of 2006. The most sweeping reform of America's pension laws in over 30 years, this Act has introduced significant changes in all types of retirement plans.
Join us for an informative overview of the key provisions of this Act and the mandatory changes that HR and benefits professionals must implement. Participants will learn how to analyze the optional provisions and take advantage of the new opportunities. Additionally, they will gain specific insight into accelerated vesting; notice requirements; safe harbor options; and much more.
The class will be held at HR Works’ second-floor training facility, 246 WillowBrook Office Park, Fairport. The cost is $75.00 per person, which includes continental breakfast.
