HR Works’ new MasterWorks series presents HR strategies for compensation, compliance, privacy, self-management
HR Works, Inc., announces
HR MasterWorks, a new training series designed for senior HR
professionals and executives. The series will address advanced-level concerns
that affect the performance and profitability of all organizations.
Participants may enroll in individual sessions or the entire series.
Programs are scheduled for Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon as follows:
- HR MasterWorks: “Paying for Positions, People and Performance,” March 8.
With job growth
expected to continue into 2007, proactive employers are re-examining their
compensation strategies and programs to ensure they can compete for and retain the
best talent, while controlling the costs to do so.
In this interactive
seminar,Jo
Ellen Pinkham, Director of Compensation Services at HR Works, will
review methods for aligning pay with the organization’s business objectives and
culture. The session will cover: trends in employee compensation; tools for
assessing, creating and revising an organization’s compensation practices; and
methods of paying for positions, people and performance.
- HR MasterWorks: “Conducting Effective Workplace Investigations: What You Should Know,” March 15.
If an employee lodged
a complaint about workplace behavior, would you know how to conduct a legally
appropriate investigation that would minimize your organization’s liability?
In this program, HR
Works’ Kate Leunig, Director of Training and Development, and Ellen Haynes,
Compliance Manager, will provide practical guidelines for investigations and
outline the risks and obligations. They will discuss: choosing the most
appropriate party to conduct an investigation; interviewing techniques and
question development; sexual harassment investigations; investigating
complaints of discrimination and misconduct; confidentiality issues; and effective
documentation.
- HR MasterWorks: “Privacy at Work: Balancing Employer Precautions and Employee
Perceptions,” March 22.
As technologies
advance and right-to-privacy issues abound, employers are challenged to protect
the organization’s assets while respecting employees’ privacy. Kate Leunig, HR
Works’ Director of Training and Development, will discuss: electronic
monitoring of email, voicemail and internet use; state and federal laws; employer
access to employee information; developing effective acceptable use policies; retaining
electronic records; conducting workplace searches; and avoiding invasion-of-privacy
claims.
- HR MasterWorks: “Controlling the Chaos: Personal Effectiveness for HR
Professionals,” March 29.
The workplace is
dynamic and demanding, and requires that HR professionals continually manage
the unexpected. Staying on track with critical projects and priorities while
effectively handling daily crises demonstrates leadership and can impact future
professional growth. This interactive program, specifically designed for HR
professionals, will be conducted by Emily Neece, Senior Consultant at HR Works.
The session will
cover: setting goals using time-management tools and timelines; planning for
the unexpected and managing daily interruptions; using technology to achieve
goals; maximizing work space through better organization; identifying work
style and bringing order out of chaos; developing a personalized work
effectiveness plan; and getting projects back on schedule.
All sessions will be held from 8:30
to noon at HR Works’ new second-floor training facility, 246 WillowBrook Office
Park, Fairport. (Note new location.)
Cost is $150 per person per session.
Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions for maximum benefit;
however, attendees may choose fewer sessions. Early signup is encouraged, as
the sessions are expected to sell out quickly.
