HR Works’ Marsh earns senior certification

Karen R. Marsh, a human resource consultant at HR Works, Inc., recently earned the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

An HR consultant at HR Works for one year, Marsh holds an M.S. in counselor education and a B.A. in political science, both from Syracuse University. She lives in Irondequoit.

The SPHR certification, awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), signifies that an individual possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in human resource management necessary to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating mastery of the field’s body of knowledge. To become certified, an applicant must pass a comprehensive examination and demonstrate a strong background of professional human resource experience.

HRCI is the credentialing body for human resource professionals and is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest organization dedicated exclusively to the human resource profession.
