HR Works' Supervisor School offers bottom-line value for employers
seeking higher retention, lower liability
Five-part series includes Preventing Harassment session
When times are tough, what business isn’t focused on the bottom line? Does your organization struggle to cost-effectively retain key
employees, boost productivity and reduce liability while dealing with a soft
economy?
If so, take a tip from the savviest organizations: A company’s resources are maximized when
supervisors are trained in the most essential management skills.
To fill that need, HR Works Inc. is expanding its popular ”Supervisor School: Human Resource Fundamentals for Managers and
Supervisors” programs for fall. The five-part series – this time including
the critical Preventing Harassment module – will be held on five Tuesdays in
September and October.
For a mere half-day of training, supervisors who hire, evaluate and/or manage employees
can enhance their skill and knowledge bases in ways that directly boost their
companies’ bottom lines. Participants will gain immediate knowledge of and
practical applications for these vital functions, and will improve their
understanding of federal, state and local laws governing employment.
HR Works’ expanded sessions reflect the nature of employment law. “The amount of information that supervisors must master in
order to effectively manage employees and comply with all employment laws has
increased,” says Kate Leunig, director of training and development and a senior
consultant at HR Works. “To accommodate that growing body of knowledge, we’re
lengthening each of our sessions by 30 minutes in order to give attendees even
more value.”
The HR Works sessions are on Tuesdays as follows:
- "Interviewing Skills for Supervisors," Sept. 9, 2003.
- "Communicating with Your Employees," Sept. 16, 2003.
- "Document, Document, Document," Sept. 23, 2003.
- "Termination: Facing the Dreaded Task," Sept. 30, 2003.
- "Preventing Harassment in the Workplace," Oct. 7, 2003.
All sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon
at HR Works’ second-floor training facility, 345 Woodcliff Drive, Fairport.
The cost is $95 per person per session.
Participants are encouraged to attend all five sessions for maximum benefit; however, attendees may choose fewer sessions.
Early signup is encouraged, as the sessions are expected to sell out quickly.
