HR Networks features Wegmans workforce expert
What HR principles and practices have made Wegmans a Top 10 employer on Fortune magazine’s list
of the nation’s Best Companies to Work For and a world leader in the food
retail industry?
Find out for yourself as HR Works, Inc., presents “How
Wegmans Creates Committed Employees,” a senior-level briefing featuring Sarah
Amering, manager of workforce planning and development at Wegmans Food
Markets, Inc. The program is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, from 8
to 9:30 a.m. at 255 Woodcliff Drive, first-floor conference room.
The cost is $20 per person, including continental breakfast.
“We’ve all marveled at the extraordinary level of service that Wegmans employees
unfailingly provide,” says Kate Leunig, director of training and development
and a senior HR consultant at HR Works. “Developing such a highly trained group
of people is an amazing feat, and Sarah Amering knows firsthand about the
challenges of attracting, retaining and motivating one of the region’s most
impressive workforces. Come and find out why Wegmans consistently ranks among Fortune’s
list of The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America.”
Wegmans, founded 66 years ago, attributes its success to a commitment to common goals,
reliance on the voices of its employees, and its leaders’ willingness to learn
from employees.
Designed for senior managers -- including CEOs, company presidents, vice presidents, CFOs,
controllers and HR executives -- the presentation is part of HR NetWorks:
The Executive Human Resources Forum, a series created by HR Works to
address advanced-level issues and case studies that directly impact
organizations’ strategic initiatives and profitability. The next HR NetWorks
event – “Employment Law Update and Open Forum” -- is set for Wednesday, May 14.
