FEI plans executive-level Sarbanes-Oxley seminar
HR Works to moderate four workshops
presented by PCAOB
director, seasoned professionals
The Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives
International is sponsoring a half-day professional development program –
“Sarbanes-Oxley Update” – from noon to 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at
the Woodcliff Lodge and Conference
Center in Perinton. The
seminar will be tailored for CFOs, senior financial managers, IT professionals
and owners of:
- Public companies preparing for SEC compliance in 2005.
- Public companies that want to take corrective action after the first year of experience.
- Private companies contemplating compliance.
- Not-for-profit organizations, insurance companies and banks.
Kate Leunig,
director of training and development at HR Works, Inc., will moderate the
program. HR Works is a strategic partner of FEI.
Topics and presenters are as follows:

SOX Planning: Critical Success Factors and the ABCs
of Getting Ready. Jim McConeghy of
Signet Management LLC, and Jason Wood, IT audit manager at Ernst & Young LLP,
will speak.
- If You Are a Private Company, SOX Matters to You! Kevin Phelps, general partner of Trillium Group LLC,
and Donald T. Eichenauer, partner at Bonadio & Company LLP, will present.
- Where Does SOX Stop and Financial Auditing Begin? and SOX 404: What to Do Before the Auditors
Arrive. Gary Kabureck, chief
accounting officer at Xerox Corp., and Darryl Canfield, chief accounting
officer, Genencor International, will offer their perspectives.
- PCAOB: What Happened in 2004, and What Can We Expect
in 2005?” Speaker will be Esslie W. Hughes, director, New York City office,
Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
Cost
for the half-day event including lunch is $50 for members of Financial
Executives International, and $100 for non-members. Seminar guests working
toward CPE certification will earn four CPE hours.
