Affirmative Action

Our AAP staff members work in teams on client projects to assist our nationwide clients in all phases of affirmative action programming.

AAP Data Analyst is an entry-level position that provides analytical support within the client project teams.

Data analysts:

  • Review client affirmative action data in Excel spreadsheets for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare questions to resolve data discrepancies
  • Conduct analyses on data in Excel and AAP-specific software programs
  • Format statistical reports
  • Apply principles of affirmative action and equal opportunity
  • Develop tools to assist clients with compliance
  • Assist in preparing AAP materials for clients going through OFCCP audits
  • Enter data into online compliance reporting systems
  • Research Department of Labor regulations to respond to questions from clients

AAP Project Managers are generally promoted from within the organization from the Data Analyst position. Employees in this role develop affirmative action plans according to HR Works' standards and in compliance with federal regulations.

Project managers:

  • Act as the project lead to assign responsibility for project components and to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects
  • Conduct analyses on client data in Excel and AAP-specific software programs
  • Prepare and interpret statistical reports
  • Remain current on affirmative action and equal opportunity employment compliance regulations
  • Advise clients on the implementation of an AAP
  • Educate clients on the application of EOE/AA regulations
  • Develop tools to assist clients with compliance
  • Assist clients going through OFCCP audits
  • Create and/or deliver affirmative action training programs
  • Recommend outreach and retention strategies to enhance diversity

Benefits Consulting and Outsourcing

HR Works, Inc. has established a new standard for the benefits administration function, making it easier, more efficient and more cost-effective to secure and manage employee benefits. This service includes benefits plan design, HR and benefits web-based technology, a benefits call center and administrative outsourcing solutions.

Our Benefits Account Coordinator role is a proactive champion for clients and their employees, helping to deliver the most comprehensive benefit solutions to employees; minimizing the administrative overload of managing a benefits program; and reducing one of the highest cost centers in companies today.

This position is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction in every step of benefits processing, compliance and problem resolution. The Benefit Account Coordinator specific responsibilities include:

Client Service and Communication

  • Assist with issues related to processing benefit and HRIS data
  • Respond to call center inquiries related to benefit coverage, leaves, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Provide assistance to employees regarding various flexible spending accounts
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process
  • Conduct employee meetings and assist with online benefits enrollment

Documentation and Reporting

  • Track data/activities in order to prepare reporting for clients and carriers
  • Document issues and outcomes into call tracking system
  • Audit data and reports for Benefits Service Center
  • Create, implement and maintain streamlined processes and written procedures

Carrier Relations

  • Work with carriers in setting up new clients and making ongoing changes
  • Work directly with client's broker and benefit carriers to resolve client benefit problems
  • Coordinate with client and carriers to ensure smooth processing and reconciliation of all recordkeeping and benefits information

Compliance

Our comprehensive compliance services provide a proactive approach to assist our clients in mitigating risk. Our Compliance Specialists have significant HR compliance expertise and "real world" HR experience. Success in this role requires a strong desire to help clients and a love of research. These positions are part-time, so flexibility in days and hours is required.

Compliance Specialists:

  • Answer HR Helpline calls
  • Assist in the development of employee handbooks
  • Assist with the preparation of client HR audits.

HRIS

HR Works provides a web-based HRIS solution that includes online benefits enrollment, employee/manager self-service, time off, talent and performance management and applicant tracking functionality.  The Implementation Consultant position provides analysis and recommends solutions to business problems related to HR and payroll applications. This role manages all phases of the implementation, including analysis/discovery, documentation of requirements, system definition and set up and end-user training.  The role also supports clients post-implementation on system functionality questions or issues. 

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • aptitude for database applications;
  • knowledge of benefits and payroll processes;
  • advanced excel skills;
  • high attention to detail; and
  • outstanding communication skills.

Recruiting and Staffing

HR Works' Recruiting Specialists are available to create customized recruitment and staffing strategies for a client's entire workforce and/or for specific positions. Our Recruiters work part-time, flexible hours, often virtually from home or at the client's site.

Each project is different, but our Recruiters frequently:

  • Research posting options and develop a comprehensive sourcing strategy
  • Create postings/ads
  • Manage postings and screen resumes
  • Conduct interview and reference checks (and/or background checks)
  • Manage candidate communication, including individual follow-up with every applicant, updates throughout the hiring process, and final notification to candidates not selected
