Employees from HR Works participated in Habitat for Humanity of Ontario County’s annual “blitz week” to assist with framing a new house in Canandaigua, NY. On August 8th, HR Works volunteers spent the day moving heavy tresses, assisting with light hammering, and screwing posts so that drywall could be anchored down.
“The Habitat for Humanity group was wonderful and welcoming, while teaching us office workers the basics of construction” said Tricia Benjamin of HR Works. Tricia organized the group of HR Works volunteers who came to help with the build.
The home, being built at 41 Saltonstall Street, is designed to be long-lasting and energy efficient. Habitat for Humanity of Ontario County will need help with this home for the remainder of the year and are always looking for volunteers. For more information about getting involved, click here
The project was organized through the HR Works Community Works Program, a volunteer program developed and run by HR Works employees as a way for colleagues to share and give back to charities within the surrounding community. Each year, HR Works and its employees donate countless hours through Community Works events.
